The below story is fiction. In my writing group, we were asked to write a short story capturing the words – wrath, gluttony, envy, greed, lust or sloth, we had to pick at least three of the words and for the story to have meaning. This is my short story... Do you know which words I used?
To everyone out there who is being belittled and abused, let me tell you from experience they will never change. Things will only get worse. You have to take responsibility for your life and leave. Only you can do that. No more excuses - •Yes, they do mean it •No, they won't change •No, it's not because they are stressed or having a bad day •No, you don't love them. You think you do, but it's not love •And, no they don't love you. What they love is having someone to blame for their inadequacies •I have no money, where will I live. These are excuses and not a reason for staying.
With any major life threatening illness it is one step forward and two steps back. And the journey doesn't end when treatment finishes. The drugs take years to get out of your system so extreme exhaustion becomes a constant daily reminder.
How many times have you said, 'I have no willpower' when trying to give up an addiction? Interesting thing is, willpower has nothing to do with it. It's all about your attitude, your mindset. If you want to succeed at something, then you will, no matter what obstacles are put in front of you. Lack of willpower is an excuse for why you haven't succeeded.
You attend every motivational workshop you can find and spend hours reading personal growth books. Yet, your life is still the same. You can read and listen to hundreds of motivational speakers. But unless your mind and heart are open and free from judgement, then you won’t learn a thing from them.
Just goes to prove, that simple gestures of kindness bring the most happiness to other people's lives! What have you done recently to bring joy to someone else's life?
