I wrote this article in December 2016. Well, it’s nearly half way through 2017, so it’s a timely reminder to everyone to reflect on what they wanted to achieve in 2017.
- Have you set actions into place to achieve your goals?
- Have you made a difference to someone’s life?
- What about the promise you made to yourself to lose weight, stop smoking, get fit or be more positive?
- Are you enjoying the present moment? Or do you still stress over what’s been or what may happen?
It’s not too late to start… if you really want your dreams and goals bad enough then you will find a way to obtain them.
Will power has nothing to do it. If you enjoy and find pleasure in something, you find a way to keep doing it. No will power needed.
Change your mindset and tell yourself that you will enjoy doing the things you keep putting off. And, before you know it, you will be doing them without thinking.
2016 will be remembered as the era where society stopped trusting in its establishments and Governments.
Three of our biggest countries, America, England and Australia have gone through political unrest as their citizens lost faith in the system.
European and Middle Eastern countries have suffered terrorist attacks leaving the world shocked and in disbelief, as thousands of innocent people have been killed or injured.
Executives and CEO’s earned millions of dollars, whilst thousands of people lost their jobs and struggled to keep roofs over their heads.
Youth gang violence, bullying and domestic violence increased at a rapid rate that authorities are slowly losing the battle to contain it.
The world has lost its purpose and way…
Governments have forgotten that they answer to the people and not the other way around. We put our faith and trust in them and they failed us.
‘Not until we are lost do we begin to understand ourselves.’ – Henry David Thoreau
So as we enter the New Year, there will be a shift in social conscience as 2017 signifies the beginning of ‘The Self-awareness’ era.
Society will start demanding its Governments and establishments be held more accountable for their actions.
Our tolerance for violence will be zero, as we stand united and say, enough is enough! We will demand harsher penalties for youth gangs who bully and commit senseless violence.
People, who judge, criticise others and racists will be outnumbered and no longer tolerated by society.
2017 will be the year that humanity self-reflects and becomes one in its fight for a better world for everyone.
